How to wash your puffer
Knowing how to properly wash your down jacket is essential to ensure its correct maintenance. In today's post we give you all the information you need to know so that your quilted garment always looks as good as the first day.
If you are thinking of washing your Henry Arroway puffer, don't worry, it is not necessary to take it to a dry cleaner. The chemicals they use can ruin the condition of your quilted outerwear.
The inside labels of your Henry Arroway puffer will give you the proper washing guidelines.
Things you should know before washing your down jacket in the washing machine:
1. The down jacket should be washed inside out and with the zips closed.
2. If the collar or sleeves are soiled or stained, it is important that minutes before putting the down jacket in the washing machine you try to rub it lightly with neutral soap.
3. It should be washed in cold water in the washing machine with normal soap and a maximum spin of 1400 RPM. It is not recommended to wash with fabric softener as this product can damage the garment.
4. Do not use bleach.
Once the down jacket has been washed in the washing machine, when you take the garment out of the washing machine, the inner feathers will be wet and grouped in areas. This is perfectly normal, so don't worry. After the drying process, the garment will return to its original state.
When drying your puffer it is important to know:
1. Hang the quilted garment on a hanger or clothes hanger in a ventilated place and out of direct sunlight.
2. Every hour or hour and a half, turn the down jacket inside out and zigzag it until it is completely dry.
3. If you have a tumble dryer, it is recommended that you put the down jacket with 3 tennis balls in a low temperature and speed programme for a maximum of one and a half minutes. This will fluff out the inner feather.
4. If you don't have a tumble dryer and the inner feather has become matted, you can tap the garment on a horizontal surface with a cardboard tube (kitchen roll, aluminium foil) or a hanger, following the rails of your down jacket from start to finish. Repeat this process until you see that your puffer is back to its original state.
5. Duvets cannot be ironed or dry-cleaned.
